Chocolate Covered Pretzels

Every now and then I have a moment where I realize that I need a quick, easy dessert or snack to take somewhere.  Yesterday was one of those days.  I was preparing to go teach a class and realized that I had not prepared any essential oil snack.   I only had a couple hours to put something together.

Sooo…my easy go to is Chocolate Covered Pretzels!

The recipe is pretty simple and they can be placed in the freezer to re-solidify the chocolate when you are in a hurry.

Chocolate Covered Pretzels

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips.  (I use a brand that is safe for our dairy allergy.)
1 tsp. coconut oil
Essential oils of your choice
Gluten free pretzels

Place the chocolate chips and coconut oil in a glass bowl.  Microwave for 1 minute.  The bowl WILL be HOT when you take it out.  Stir until all the chocolate chips are melted.  Add in your essential oil and stir well.  Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper.  Dip each pretzel in the chocolate and place on cookie sheet.   Freeze until firm.  Store in fridge.

My favorite combination of essential oils for the chocolate:

OR
4 drops Wild Orange and 2 drops Cassia essential oil

Healthy Hint:

Peppermint supports the respiratory and digestive systems.  I love using it for energy and focus as well.  doTERRA Peppermint can be used topically, aromatically, and internally.

Cassia has a mild cinnamon flavor and the essential oil has supports the circulatory, cardiovascular, and immune systems.  Cassia also help promote a positive effect on mood.  It can be used topically, aromatically, and internally.  Cassia is considered a “hot oil” and needs to be diluted in a carrier oil before applying to the skin.

Wild Orange is uplifting of mood and is helpful in easing anxious feelings.  It can be used topically, aromatically, and internally.  When using topically apply under clothing.  Citrus oils are photosensitive and may cause blistering when in contact with sunlight.
